Material Handler / Receiving Dept. (Temp-to-Hire) - Fredericktown, OH
Wages: $15 - $17/hr (depending upon skills, experience)
56 hours a week- 5- 10 hour days Mon - Fri, and 6 hours on Saturday
This position is responsible for proper receipt, documentation, and distribution of incoming shipments and/or preparation and documentation of all outbound shipments while ensuring compliance to processes and work instructions for handling of all receiving and shipping items.
Examining incoming and outgoing shipment contents and comparing with records (packing lists, purchase orders, etc.) to verify accuracy
Receive using a One Touch System (item received -> boxes are broken down -> items put on pick racks)
Sort, organize, and stage components so that they can be easily located
Label material correctly and route to the proper areas and/or recipient as needed
Accurately track and record all information using company processes and reporting with proper notifications if any receiving discrepancies are found
Record shipping and receiving data, such as weight, charges, damages, and discrepancies for purposes of reporting, accounting and record keeping
Confer and correspond with company representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages and non-conformance to specifications
Handle the inventory control and supply chains
Tag and place stock inventory as received from vendor
Coordinate racks with mag board and schedule accordingly
Consolidates assembly and machine shop package documents
Create log of unused components per job to provide to management for return to vendor or restocking
Know the function of each department
Assure that the work area is orderly, clean, and safe

Skills/Qualifications:
Able to operate a fork lift
Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
Possess strong organizational skills in order to find and provide components quickly
Problem solving
Prioritizing the tasks to be performed in a fast-paced environment
Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
Be attentive to details and diligent to accuracy
Ability to work well with all levels of employees while giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Follow written and verbal instructions
Demonstrate knowledge of and support the policies and procedures of UMD as outlined in the employee handbook and safety manual
Acceptable Education/Training/Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted
Must possess a valid driver's license
