Mount Vernon, OH (Knox County)
$18.00/hr + dependent on qualifications
We are seeking a detail oriented Administrative Assistant that has knowledge of an accounting department. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and confident working in a high profile setting, as you will be providing customer service, answering the phone and email correspondence with the general public.
This position has the ability to become a temp-to-hire position for the ideal candidate.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Reviewing, verifying and correcting accounting reports
Payables and receivables
Closing end of month, quarter and year
Prepare payroll
W-2/year end reports
Order office supplies
Monitor expenditures
Answering phones and respond to emails
Other duties as assigned or needed
This position may require you to attend meetings and trainings as needed or directed.
You must demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
Knowledge and skills preferred for this position:
Associates degree from an accredited college in accounting or related field, preferred but not required
Accounting and Bookkeeping (1+ year proven experience)
Payroll practices and procedures (1+ year proven experience)
Records preparation, retention and management (1+ year proven experience)
Professional oral and written communication
Customer service and maintaining effective working relationships
Collective bargaining, Union, and or Government process and regulations is helpful for this role
Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
