BOOKKEEPER with prior experience
A/R, A/P, G/L, Payroll via ADP, HR/admin recordskeeping
The Bookkeeper plays a critical role in the accounting, reporting and administrative functions of this growing Mount Vernon manufacturer and distributor. Your insights and diligent efforts help the business run smoothly, by processing and providing information to owners, employees, customers and vendors.
--Pay: Annualized pay in the $30K's; to be negotiated
--Steady hours (Mon-Fri, 8a to 4p)
--Status: Direct-Hire
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Task coverage includes (but is not limited to)
--Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll (through ADP), General Ledger
--Reconciliations between documents and accounts
--Financial report creation, and research for inquiries
--Customer, vendor and employee contact (in-person, phone, emails, faxes/scans)
--HR recordkeeping
--Storage, organization and recall of supporting documents
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
--Prior accounting / bookkeeping experience (5+ years preferred)
--Solid understanding of accounting and bookkeeping (CPA NOT required) as well as good business understanding
--Proficiency with Microsoft Office software; QuickBooks familiarity is a plus
--Good written and verbal communication skills
--Strong attention to detail
--Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize work
--Organization and the ability to multitask
--Reliability, dependability, personal maturity and team-focused attitude (willing to help where needed)
--Self-starter; able to work with supervising manager who is located remotely / offsite
--Confidentiality and discretion
--Flexibility to adjust to new tasks
--Strong interpersonal skills to interact with others positively
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
--HS diploma or GED; major plus would be certification or college degree in business
--Prior success in financial support (A/P, A/R, payroll, G/L, bookkeeping); 5-plus years of similar work experience preferred
